OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY POLICY

Buildcorp is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for staff, clients and subcontractors. This is best achieved by management and employees working together following a program of health and safety activities and procedures which are monitored, reviewed and audited to achieve best practice.

Buildcorp’s commitment to health and safety is as important as the Company’s’ commitment to outstanding service to clients in the Construction Industry. There can be no compromise with health and safety. Buildcorp considers no phase of its operations of greater importance than safety and expects management and staff to ensure that safe personal behaviour at all times takes precedence over expediency. Buildcorp undertakes to regularly review this policy to take account of changes in legislation and technology.

Objectives and targets

> To provide safe and healthy work environment for all our staff, clients, visitors, general public and subcontractors. To provide safe and healthy methods of work
> To provide a program of health and safety activities and procedures which are continually updated and effectively carried out
> To comply with all relevant laws, standards and codes of practice
> To become a industry leader in the area of OHS by ensuring it is our number one priority above profit and program

OHS Program
The program relates to all aspects of health and safety including:
> The provision of an appropriate health and safety management system
> Health and safety training and education
> The utilisation of a risk management approach to the management of hazards
>  Consultation with the workforce on matters related to health and safety
> Standard work methods
> Emergency procedures and drills
> Workplace inspections
> Incident/accident reporting.

Management responsibility
Every member of the Buildcorp management team is responsible for the implementation, promotion and maintenance of a health and safety system for employees, clients and subcontractors. Managers are to ensure their team is aware of their occupational health and safety responsibilities. Managers are required to provide supervision and training to ensure that safe and healthy procedures are followed and that unsafe methods and hazards are systematically identified, assessed and controlled.

Sun protection policy
Our company will comply with legislative requirements by ensuring their employees and employees of sub-contractors on our sites obey the sun protection policy. Buildcorp Australia Pty Ltd requires employees and sub-contractors to adhere to the following:
> Shirts are to be worn at all times. Long sleeves are preferred, but due to working in a hot environment, short-sleeved shirts are acceptable if the person wears sunscreen on the uncovered area of their skin.
> Singlets and safety vests are not deemed to be sufficient protection and are not to be solely worn on site. A shirt must also be worn.
> 30+ SPF Sunscreen is to be worn on all exposed areas of the skin; and provided by your Company for your use only.
> Hard Hats are to be worn on site at all times, this provides minimal protection and sunscreen must be worn also. Wide brim hardhat covers are available from suppliers and provide better protection from UV rays.
> Eye protection will be issued to Buildcorp Australia Pty Ltd employees only in the form of safety sunglasses and subcontractors will provide eye protection to their own employees. The sunglasses will be used when working outdoors in the sun.
> Personal Protective Equipment; hard hats, & safety sunglasses are supplied to Buildcorp Australia Pty Ltd Site Staff only and subcontractors will provide P.P.E. to their own employees and must be worn when working outdoors.

Drug and alcohol program policy
> A person who is dangerously affected by drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to work until that person can work in a safe manner.
> Alcohol is prohibited on all Buildcorp Australia Construction Sites at all times including social functions; consumption or storage of Alcohol on site will result in disciplinary action.
> The decision on a person’s ability to work in a safe manner will be made by the safety committee or on projects with no safety committee by a body of at least equal numbers of employee/employer representatives.
> There will be no payment of lost time to a person unable to work in a safe manner.
> If this happens once the worker shall be given a written warning and made aware of the availability of treatment/counselling. If the worker refuses help he/she may be dismissed the next time he/she is dangerously affected.
> For the purposes of disciplinary action a warning shall be effective for a period of 12 months from the date of issue.
> A worker having problems with alcohol and or other drugs:
(i). Will not be sacked if he/she is willing to get help.
(ii). Must undertake and continue with recommended treatment to maintain the protection of this program.
(iii). Will be entitled to sick leave or leave without pay while attending treatment.

Rehabilition policy
This statement should be read in conjunction with the Occupational Health and Safety Policy and the Injury Management Plan that focuses on worker’s Return to Work. Commitments To prevent work related injury or illnesses. Buildcorp Australia Pty Ltd, in consultation with employees, representatives including trade unions, makes a commitment to provide a safe and early return to work in the best interests of the injured employee.

Objectives
> The objective of rehabilitation is to return the injured or ill person to the fullest physical, psychological, social, vocational and economic usefulness of which he/she is capable.
> To initiate, as soon as possible, the rehabilitation process following a work-related injury or illness, ensuring that participation will not of itself prejudice an injured or ill employee.
> To assist injured or ill employees to return to meaningful, productive work as soon as possible, through an individually planned rehabilitation program that may involve internal and external services.
> To maintain a support network to ensure that rehabilitation of injured or ill employees is initiated, monitored and progressed to a satisfactory conclusion.
