This storage facility was purpose built for a global information management group, and became a standout industrial project
in Sydney. The development consists of a 18,000m2 warehouse designed to store 6 million archive boxes, truck and van loading areas, associated offices and an express service sorting area.
The document retrieval system is a rack mounted, fully automated internal transport service, incorporating radio frequency identification (RFID) that is comparable to any system of its kind globally.
The design of the main building resembles a giant three-dimensional barcode to symbolise the Recall brand, hence
making the building itself one massive advertisement.
The warehouse is nearly 30 metres in height –tall enough to house a nine-story office building – requiring us to import
specialist material handling equipment from the USA, including two custom-built scissor lifts.
Awarded as a design and construct project, Buildcorp completed the project ahead of schedule by providing early access to the racking contractors.
