Buildcorp Interiors provided a high level of finish for this client’s retail precinct and food court. The scope of works included the installation of a new mezzanine structure incorporated into the existing structure, new services infrastructure and new high end finishes over three levels. The project involved a combination of new large structural steel members & concrete slabs to infill the void 11mm above the existing floor level whilst also providing uninterrupted public access throughout the project to retail tenancies and food court.
The scope of works included installation and upgrading of the existing infrastructure to provide for eight new tenancies and the amalgamation of new and existing high end finishes, in particular new stone, Terrazo and timber ceiling panelling. Buildcorp provided early handover of new tenant areas within the construction zone to allow tenant contractors complete their fit out works and enable an incorporated project complete for all works.
The refurbishment was carried out within an iconic Sydney building and involved the highest level of detail and safety. The retail precinct was tenanted by over 40 high-end retailers, these all traded throughout the project and therefore great emphasis and care was taken to minimise the impact of the project on these tenant’s. Subsequently the construction timeframe was restricted to between 11:00pm and 7:00am. Additionally, these areas were constantly accessed by thousands of pedestrians daily and thorough planning was required by Buildcorp Interiors ensure safe access to public and workers alike. This strong focus on safety and planning culminated in Buildcorp Interiors being awarded the 2007 Master Builders Association Safety Award for Commercial Construction (projects up to $10 million).
