Redlands Senior Campus

Located on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, Redlands Senior Campus has 1,600 students from kindergarten through to year 12. To limit the impact of the works on the school and ensure the safety of all students, teachers, and visitors, Buildcorp worked with the school to ensure key dates were considered when programming disruptive works, detailed disruption notices were provided when needed, separate access for all construction vehicles, and noise and vibration monitoring during noisy works.

Representing the first stage of the Redlands Senior Campus Master Plan, and within proximity to several residential and commercial properties, there were many stakeholders impacted by and invested in the works. Buildcorp applied a comprehensive community engagement strategy, which included the engagement of a specialist communications consultant to assist with managing the relationship between the project team, the school, and the wider community. In addition, relevant stakeholders received quarterly Community Update newsletters via a letterbox drop with details of the works being completed and were also provided with a dedicated project email address for any community concerns or requests for information about the project.

Having developed a plan to progress the site during the 12-week ECI period, Buildcorp provided price and program certainty for the remaining works, which was split into three stages:

• Stage 1 – Construction of a new five storey New Learning Hub, featuring flexible learning spaces, new links, courtyards, outdoor learning spaces, a garden rooftop, and a basement carpark with space for 55 cars
• Stage 2 – Development of 3,500m2 of outdoor, multipurpose, landscaped spaces built over the top of existing classrooms and the new carpark
• Stage 3 – Infrastructure improvements, services upgrades, and a new internal access road complete with bus parking bay and landscaping
